Sega Nomad Stack

16-bitPosted by Scawp Mon, June 14, 2010 21:52:57
a while ago @tomnomnom posted me this challenge http://twitter.com/tomnomnom/status/13301732217 so I decided to do a "portable" version, here is the result:

He then posted this on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/bzlt2/portable_sega_tower_of_power/ and questions arose over whether mine would work, the answer is yes, it plays a special stage of sonic & knuckles. want proof? well I've finally found time to upload the video so here it is! (sorry for the orientation, I couldn't be bothered setting it all up again!)

Hows that then suckers?

P.S the backing track is provided by our lass watching friends on E4, she would have got involved or at least turned the volume down but her responce was "why are you doing that, you are stupid"

CSS

RantPosted by Scawp Wed, June 02, 2010 12:54:35

Working as a web developer I have to use a number of different technologies and languages but one of my main passions is CSS. what? Style sheets? No no no Counter Strike Source fools!!!!

Heres a map I made a long time ago clicky! Its pretty basic but fun, get to the centre to get some weapons!

At some point I wanna make a TF2 map but until I move house its not likely

Laters!

Untested

16-bitPosted by Scawp Mon, April 26, 2010 13:32:08

I recently bought a goodie bag of Sega stuff off ebay, listed as Untested. Obviously I'm always a bit dubious over listing like this on ebay but decided to buy anyway the result was:

Nomad - faulty power connection, faulty screen. Was also missing some internal screws from a bodged fix.

Gamegear - faulty screen also was missing the membrane switch (the rubbery thing that makes the keys press) also from a bodged fix.

Genesis 1 - works fine

32X - not tested due to lack of games and conversion cable

quickshot joystick - awaiting a test on desert strike

When did it become expectable to list "tested, faulty and i may have broken it when I tried to fix them" as untested??? Nevermind £70 for the lot, well spent in the end.

Anyway the Nomad is now fixed, I'll post some guides when I've chance.

With regards to the Gamegear I was going to slap it back on ebay, but on second thoughts I've decided to try and turn it into a mini Master System with the aid of a master system converter, I just need to find a suitable donor case or some CAD/CAM software to design my own maybe. I'll keep you posted on any developments.

Any suggestions on a mini Mastersystem hybrid? Comments below please!

Why not *not* (not) use Wordpress?

RantPosted by Scawp Thu, April 22, 2010 14:20:30

Its now been almost 3 years since I bought this domain and thus far this

is the result, crap isn't it. Why you ask? Being a web developer (I prefer software engineer) for a living I had grand ideas of creating my own site with my own custom blogging system, but 1/ I'm crap at design and 2/ Once I'm home I just can't be arsed to code, simple as.

A good friend of mine sums this up nicely on his blog (to which I ripped of his title "Why not *not* use Wordpress?")

http://andysmith.co.uk/blog/2010/03/10/why-not-not-use-wordpress/

And he would be right.

So why not use wordpress you ask?

Well I was going to however when I logged onto my control panel I notice a setup blog button and thought "fuck it that'll do". Cock knows what it is.

So expect rants, console modification,  swearing, rape jokes and 16-bit fun, if you can't handle it please fuck off now, thank you.
